Over the past decade, a certain characteristic of harness design has become the number-one sought-after feature for comfort in tree climbing—the floating bridge. The floating bridge is essentially a suspension strap that spans the wearer’s lap where the support line is connected, allowing for free movement of the torso like no other design. Such mobility allows a tree climber to reach up and down and in, and out much more freely during a routine that demands flexibility.

With design assistance from North Carolina arborist Eddie Simril, Weaver puts their Cougar on path with a handful of the industry’s most respected predators, including treeMotion, Dragonfly & Butterfly, Glide, Sequoia, Traverse, Versatile, and the new Ergovation. Weaver’s genes are obvious in the Cougar—from the signature, heavy-duty stitching to the grommet-stamped tongue buckle. The Cougar makes for a good-quality, entry-level floating bridge harness.

Customer Reviews

Happy with my new harness Review by Captain Connie
Coming from old Klein lineman's belts, this saddle is pure luxury. I use it with the Weaver suspenders. It fits great on me and is super comfortable. It's too early to tell how it will hold up to the wear and tear of use, but it looks like it's well made and should last many years. If I were a man I may not like the leg straps and my husband only uses belts without leg straps. I love the leg strap buckles which are very convenient to use. This is my first real tree climbing harness with modern features so I have nothing to compare it to, but so far I'm really happy with it. I like it so much I may even want to start climbing recreationally with it. (Posted on 12/27/2018)
Love this saddle. Review by The truckin tree guy.
I love this saddle. It’s one of the most comfortable saddles I’ve climbed with. I’ve only been climbing a few years but definitely would recommend it to anyone who don’t have a ton of money to spend but wants a pretty nice saddle. (Posted on 11/8/2017)
