Old school saddle with new school accommodations Review by Adam
First saddle and true beginner currently learning Ddrt from 3rd gen 40-year accident/claim free veteran of a tree surgeon! Loving his recommendation on this weaver after searching together for my starting gear. He couldn't believe this was one of the few with "ass-straps still left". Extremely sturdy, simple and effective, yet plenty of features to expand from as my climbing experience and style grow.

While climbing, I'm learning by utilizing only spurs, flipline/lanyard, saddle, 5/8" 3-strand climbing line, closed handle curved 17" handsaw and a 200T for the full loadout. Not even an aerial rigging device or accessory, just straight up half-hitches, running bowlines, and natural crotches (and you guessed it, 3-strand). True old school as far as I know! Nevertheless, huge feature in the double-floating dees meaning a spreader snap not necessarily required for traditional system (only use one centered floating dee), and can branch out with separated-anchor split-tail systems later down the line.

Happy that my $200-shy first saddle will keep me comfortable and safe for hours while giving me room to develop and grow into my own as a climber. Hope this helps, Weaver certainly has a big thumbs up from me! (Posted on 1/20/2019)
