The Notch Big Shot was easier to use than expected on my Notch Fiberglass 8' poles (16ft of leverage with the two poles together. There is somewhat of a learning curve to gain accuracy but overall, but for never using one in the past it is easy to use with little experience. (Posted on 5/29/2018)

We use this head with the Notch Launcher, with the trigger attachment of course, incredible tool. Able to shoot a 16oz bag up to 100'. Tree life has become much easier - (Posted on 3/28/2018)

In my 15+ years of being an arborist, thowline throwing has remained a weak point. I bought one of these guys, unsure if it was really more gimmicky clutter for gear heads than distilled arboricultural practicality. I’m a minimalist and lean toward the latter. But I think this is a pretty good tool. I used it on a job where understory trees obstructed the throw. This zipped right through those and landed the shot quickly.

You need every bit of an 8 ft of pole to shoot this well. I use 6 ft pole extensions as my truck bed is 6.5 ft. I wanted to utilize my existing poles rather than fool with dedicated bigshot poles. A 2ft extension was going to be too long to fit in my climbing gear pack, and if it didn’t fit in the pack, it’d be cumbersome to fool with, remember, or have when I need it . So I took a busted “Mr Long Arm” I had in my shop and used the telescoping portion to fashion an 18” pole extension that expands out to 24”. I keep that tucked inside of my pack, and the bigshot head in the pack brain with the throw line. So this way, all I need to grab is my climbing gear pack and a 6 ft pole extension and I’m fully outfitted to employ the bigshot if I need it, without having to remember any special, didicated gizmoes for it.

Shooting it by hand can be a little rough on the fingers, but screw getting the trigger. That’s too many gizmoes for this guy.

Quality seems good. Good piece of gear. Thumbs up so far. (Posted on 2/9/2018)

Great product but costs and delivery lower the overall score. Review by Kevin

The Big Shot is a great product and works very well. I've attached to our pre-existing pruner poles (male to female) with no problems! Works great but delivery was very expensive! The product itself is $67 and delivery around $45 but then UPS charged an additional $50 upon delivery since I live in Canada and they crossed the border to deliver. Not a fan of UPS or businesses that use UPS to deliver packages. (Posted on 12/5/2016)

The Bigshot is the go to tool when your target is further then you can throw and the line launcher is overkill. You can't fire off the line launcher in every yard. (Posted on 10/21/2016)
