Silky HAYAUCHI 21ft Pole Saw 3-extension XL teeth
- Product Review (submitted on March 9, 2019):
I've owned the Hayauchi for 8 years. I do mostly smaller pruning jobs in winter. I routinely reach 16-20 feet into larger ornamentals with all kinds of weird branch angles getting in the way (think crabapples, cherries, here). This has been the Most Valuable Tool in my truck since then. The reach is phenomenal. Does it get whippy when extended to 21 feet? Yes, but that's the price you pay for having the reach with the weight of this thing. Any more solid, rigid tool would be way too heavy to wield over that height. That being said, even at full extension, this bad boy cuts like a hot knife through butter. The oval shape really helps with control. My only (minor) beef is that sometimes the locking buttons don't spring back up when shortening the extensions, but that's usually because one, or more of the layers of poles aren't aligned perfectly. If working on the alignment doesn't work, a little help with WD-40 usually helps.
Is this an expensive saw? Yes. Would I buy it if not doing this professionally? Probably not, but the money this thing brings in more than pays for itself.
