ART SpiderJack 2.1 Dyneema for 11mm-13mm Lines
- Product Review (submitted on August 29, 2015):
- From the first time I used it almost 2 years ago, I'm absolutely convinced this is the way to go for every climber. The only disadvantage I can come up with is if you dropped it from height, it could get damaged. I use it in conjunction with a ringed friction saver and it makes ascending so easy. You can pull your rope with one hand and the slack falls through the SJ eliminating the need to tend for the most part. This leaves your other hand free to hold on to the tree to assist. Be prepared to replace the clutch eventually as it does wear out and you get slippage but at $20 it's less than rope hitch cordage. I've ran 11mm Kermeleon, Tendril and Blaze rope mostly DRT with it and occasionally SRT. I strongly recommend using it with a good friction saver to get the best, easiest climbing experience.
