CMI Classic Stainless Steel Pulley up to 5/8in diameter rope
- Product Review (submitted on January 21, 2014):
- I have used this pulley while it belonged to other people and loved it. I purchased and also loved it! It is very lightweight and takes all the friction out of the lowering system. Now for the bad: the particular pulley I purchased had a faulty bushing which caused it to fail after 3 weeks. It did not "break", the pulley wheel just stopped turning all of a sudden. Sherrill was kind enough to take back my product and repair it (since I had only used the pulley for 3 weeks before it broke). I believe they just replaced the bushing and the pulley wheel itself, but it took just over a month to get the pulley back to me after I sent it out for repairs. It works fine now. I really like this pulley a lot, but I think next time I will try purchasing the Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Pulley (which has double the mbs - 16,000 lbs). The heavy duty pulley is only $6 more and uses bearings rather than a bushing. While this pulley worked it worked very well, and is an 'essential' tool for any arborist. I use mine on a carabiner and a strap of webbing and I have not had any issues other than the first initial failure.
