The new Alveo (meaning a depression hollowed out of solid matter) is a sporty yet highly functional helmet design that’s an offshoot of Petzl’s popular Vertex. Weighing in 25% lighter than the Vertex, the Alveo utilizes a comfortable and cool polystyrene foam liner in the uppermost region designed to absorb by deformation incidental or higher impact blows. Also, using Petzl’s latest CenterFit adjustment system, it ensures optimal centering and stability of the helmet on the head and has strategically located adjustment rollers that allow adjustment while wearing gloves.
The Alveo Best’s (solid shell, without ventilation) was designed to meet electrical hazard standards.

Each Alveo model includes side slots for mounting hearing protections as well as inserts for accepting a VIZIR face shield and a slot for mounting a PIXA headlamp. Four clips are included for mounting a headlamp with elastic headband while the integrated comfort chinstrap limits risk of losing the Alveo in case of a fall (strength greater than 50 daN). This lightweight new innovation from Petzl is an extremely comfortable choice for keeping falling tree parts from, well, making a depression in your solid matter.

  • CenterFit adjustment system that keeps your head centered
  • Dual headband adjusters above the ears that can be manipulated while wearing gloves
  • External ventilation adjusters
  • Adaptability for accessories include:
  • VIZIR face protection
  • Petzl’s Pixa Headlamp

Okay helmet Review by Estevan
I had the kask superplasma helmet, it lasted about a year until the black impact resistant material came out so I thought id give the petzl helmet a try. Its very light but it doesnt seem to fit as good as the kask even when the helmet is as tight as it can be. It has two adjustment switches on the sides instead of one on the back like the kask which i find gets a better centered fit. I also ussualy flip my ear muffs back when i need to hear and the plastic headlamp strap holders get caught on the ear muffs and it tore the brand new ear muffs. You cant take off the headlamp strap holders because they also hold the chin straps in place, unless you modify the helmet. (Posted on 9/17/2017)
