BioBarrier uses time-release nodules to repel a tree's roots, protecting sidewalks and structures from damaging roots without harming the tree. The fabric permits water and nutrients to pass through. Install BioBarrier when planting a tree or around structures near existing trees. Exposure of BioBarrier outside of the yellow protective bag to the sun's rays will accelerate herbicide release and degrade the fabric, shortening effective life of 15 years. I'm sure we've all seen a sidewalk with had portions of it cracked and pushed up due to the growth of roots from a nearby tree. Similar effects happen to all sorts of other structures, because there is nothing in place to prevent the roots from causing damage. This is where Biobarrier comes in. Biobarrier is an advanced long-term root control system which incorporates time-release nodules. When strategically placed in the soil, it prevents structural damage from root encroachment without causing damage to the roots or tree. Effective life of Biobarrier is 15 years (minimum) or more depending on the location.
Though the ideal times to install Biobarrier are when a tree is first planted or when backfilling, Biobarrier can still be easily installed for older trees. Simply dig a small trench along the structure to be protected, and slip the fabric vertically into the opening. Cover, tamp and rake over. That's all there is to it. Plus, the flexibility of the fabric allows you to shape and form the root control system to virtually any configuration.
Biobarrier is an excellent root control system for many landscaping situations. Examples include swimming pools, gardens, cemeteries, tennis courts, and building foundations. Biobarrier is sold by the roll. Root control is another great service that you can offer your customers!
