From beginning to the ultimate backup Review by Major/ Sonni

I've used this as my 'starter' saddle for every climber whom has come through my ranks. With six level III's and eight II's this is the one saddle I have to keep in stock in all sizes as they all swear by these as their "trusted " backups when weather or repairs are needed for any of the other nine different saddles need the break. Mine is seven years old and with proper care, has no intention of letting me down any time soon. (Posted on 8/5/2016)

My go to saddle ,when ever I got that long day in the tree I hang my puma on the hook and grab the good old tride and true . I can't say enough about this one but I will say it takes years to break in and then its like an old favorite . Still rides like no other, in leather we trust. (Posted on 2/8/2016)

I have the orginal one that is from 1989 "hurricane Hugo " . This saddle works great and I feel very safe using it .The only reason I am considering a new saddle is I would like a light weight one . I wish somebody would make a lightweight (with inside leather covering) saddle where the wood chips would not stick to it . (Posted on 5/10/2013)

love this saddle. ive had it and used it almost everyday for 4 years now. im usually carrying about 20lbs of tools and accessories on this belt and ive never had a problem with it. nothing broken and the bridge is just being worn through the rubber on the underside, great saddle, recommend to any working climber, (Posted on 5/26/2012)
good utility saddle Review by liska

good saddle for utility purposes, i.e climbing with a chainsaw or a lot of gear. however "dead leg" can become an issue if one is suspended in a single spot for a awhile. but the back support is very nice when you have a lot on you belt. (Posted on 5/1/2012)

I've only had it for a year I really like it a lot and i trust it everytime I do any kind of climbing and I will think about changing it for a new one in three or four years. And I havent had any problems with the lanyard points yet and I do put lots of pressher on it with a tranko 15/foot 10mm lanyard system so all around its comfortable and I really like it and the price is suitable and hopfully won't change to mutch by the time I'm ready for a new saddle (Posted on 3/21/2011)

I have been using my first floating D wideback saddle for over 7 years about 20 days out of the month, the only reason I bought a new one was because one of the legstraps got cut in the truck by a running saw, if the guys had been more observent, I would still be using it today!!! this is a good utilitarian saddle. the price can't be beat. the downside is that i blew through the bridge in just under three years. the side clasps broke in the first month. i would not recommend this saddle for longevity, but it is good to learn on or if you only climb from time to time.
