Details

For tree climbers, rope is one leg of four on the table of efficiency and comfort—along with the harness, work-positioning lanyard, and handsaw. Without good interaction among these tools and your hands, movement within the tree’s crown can be something less than elegant.

Here comes Poison Ivy. Not only versatile for all climbing styles, with multiple color choices from high visibility to pedestrian, it’s affordable for all climbing budgets, too. Poison Ivy, with its unique double-braid construction, stays round when in use. This highly coveted ability allows smooth operation with a variety of climbing systems. Poison Ivy also has the ability to remain flexible and knot friendly for those times when nothing but cordage on cordage will do. Durable and strong, the double-braid construction delivers a lower elongation climbing line in a spliceable arborist rope.

Ideal for climbers looking for limited “bounce” and especially attractive to stationary rope system climbers longing to abandon the need for two lines when moving rope tasks are on the day’s agenda. Beefier to the grip than other 24-strand lines. Unlike other arborist climbing lines, Poison Ivy has no noticeable coating or fabric treatment to make the line feel tacky or slippery when new, which limits break-in time and enhances performance right out of the bag.

While the Poison Ivy's are great rope, they're not EN1891 type A rope.

I was using Lava, till time came to replace. I thought I'd try the Poison Ivy this time. WAY better in my opinion. Good firm rope, knots well, very low stretch compared to Lava, which really makes a difference when climbing higher with a lot of rope in your climbing system. Just a little milking and twisting, mostly when descending long distance. After using this rope, I'm sold.. (Posted on 5/15/2015)

Holds knots well! The rope coils terrible every time short trees worst than big ones have milked it many times. (YOU MILK COWS NOT ROPES) It still coils terrible have had it 10 months have been up well over 1000 trees i would hope it is broke in. have found that if you tape the ends and don't melt them so they can milk every time it helps! Does not like blakes hitch Review by Chris Boyne

Overall its a great rope with a good feel. I tend to stick with me Lava Rope instead of the poison ivy because of its ability to hold the blakes hitch better. I find myself constantly tending the hitch with the poison ivy as it tends to slowly feed rope on its own. (Posted on 12/5/2010)
