1. What type of pump is needed for a Spray Rig and what type of engine will be required to drive the pump?

The pump and engine choice depends on what are you trying to accomplish. Specifically whether you will be spraying tall trees, doing tree and shrub fertilizing, lawn applications or Right-of-Way herbicide applications. Defining the specifics will help determine the number of tanks and type of pump required. For example, if you are spraying one small tree on a property, with a particular specialized material, you may need a 100-gallon or a 50-gallon tank to compliment the larger water holding tanks. The size of the engine will need to increase with the chosen size of pump and related tanks.

2. Do you recommend a fully enclosed truck mounted unit?

Yes. Fully enclosed units give you options such as better storage and the ability to close the doors and have your spray truck look cleaner, like just another "bread truck".

3. What are the benefits of a Skid Mounted Unit?

A Skid Mounted Unit allows the operator to take the rig on and off the truck or trailer. This type of set-up also allows your spray rig to be self-contained (portable, all as one unit).

4. Where should I have the hose reel mounted?

Mounting the reel above the engine and the pump is common and this will allow you to remain self-contained. Mounting the reel on the deck of the truck will allow the operator easier access to the hose and is generally mounted on the curb-side.

5. What length of hose and size of hose do I need?

½ inch is most popular and the lightest hose to deal with. Standard length is 300 ft, although available in 400 ft lengths as well. ¾ inch hose provides you additional volume and in many cases is used for spraying taller trees. ¾ inch hoses require electric reels.

6. What engine do I need to run my spray rig or will I run the pump off of the PTO (power take off) of the truck?

External engines are needed on a Skid Mounted Unit and the size of the engine is determined by the pump size. Larger engines are used to run larger GPM pumps. All enclosed Truck Mounted Units run off the PTO of the truck.

7. What spray gun should I use?

The hand held or pistol grip gun is ideal for lawn and shrub spraying but does not provide additional height. The Turbine Tree gun will give you flexibility to spray tall trees as well as low shrubs simply by moving the front handle forward or back.

8. What material is used to make the truck bodies?

All truck enclosures are custom made to order and are constructed of aluminum, with stainless steel hose reels and manifolds. Aluminum and stainless steel construction prevent corrosion, which may occur while using fertilizers and chemicals.

9. What material is used to make the Skid Mounted Units?

Corrosion resistant T6061 Aluminum.

10. What material is used to make the spray tanks?

Chemical resistant polyethylene tanks with a 5-year UV rating.

11. What material is used to make the fittings?

All fittings are glass reinforced poly, brass or stainless steel.
