Samson Vortex Cool Rope 12.7mm
- Product Review (submitted on August 25, 2012):
- I enjoy climbing this rope for ascent and foot locking applications. I climb on a distel hitch with a DMM climber pulley and no issues during ascent. Upon working in the tree, I have found that this rope milks a lot, hindering the ability to descend easily. The further the decent, the thicker this rope gets (from the excess outer shell of the kernmantle) and the hitch does not want to slide freely. Climbing on a doubled sling shot system makes this problem worse. When I near the middle of the rope, the milking is so bad and the ends come together that the rope appears to be as large as my 3/4" rigging lines. Over all I will be putting this rope aside for a tagline and be going back to climbing on a Poison HiVy.
