I would not recommend this saw.I have had it for about a year. I keep thinking that's going to break in and run better. Unfortunately, it has not. A couple of times up in the tree on a hot day, I didn't think it was going to start. After pulling on it ten to fifteen times finally started what a pain. Then the other problem how boggy it is, really annoying. Once you get it up to full rpm and start cutting it's very powerful but you have to have it at full rpm before you start cutting otherwise it start bogging down. I have taken back to the husky dealer and of corse, it started right up. But it was still boggy and they said there is nothing they can do sorry.I have a Stihl 261 c-m with the MTronic carb starts one pull and there's no lag. (Posted on 4/21/2017)
Good in some ways but not very durable! Review by Treesmith

I had this saw for 3 months with minimal use. I only used it for climbing and stuck to my stihl in the bucket. Until I got it pinched one day and hardly pulled it and the top handle ripped the plastic be the forward mount and broke the wires for kill switch and intake boot when handle mount broke. They wouldn't warranty it and the shop told me the saw was junk and not worth fixing even though it only had maybe 10 hrs runtime. Never had these kind of problems with the 6 stihl 201ts that I have. Well the oil leakage is heavy. Something seems to be binding inside the clutch cover/bar housing that's causing heat to build up and the chain to tighten. This drastically affects performance. After I loosened the chain things eased up. Beautiful saw to fun aloft. It cuts well and Carey's well on the climbing belt. I would recommend it to a fellow climber. The longevity has yet to be determined! (Posted on 6/30/2016)

This saw is well balanced but, after you cut it off it constantly leaks oil more than any saw I've ever ran! It is reall boggy. Takes a long time to warm up and it don't rev right up like most saws it lags behind then finally catches up. (Posted on 9/4/2015)

I purchased this saw in early spring 2014. Had to replace the carb 4 months out. Not impressed with that. The plastic this saw in critical places is cheap. The pull handle broke just yesterday. The chain tension screw broke through the housing. I take care of my tools and don't understand why this happened. I should have known that the first year models will have problems. I love this saw. Starts quick, powerful and ergonomic. However, I think they should reinforce the plastic in high stress areas. (Posted on 12/24/2014)

I am not a arborist but I am a chainsaw mechanic that looks after a large tree company's equipment in my area so I have a different perspective on saws, what I can say is this is the best tree climbing saw husqvarna has produced, to me this saw cuts every bit as quick (once run in) as the 200t but it is more refined than the 200 and 201t it is smoother in the hands thanks to the awesome anti vibe set up. Air filter cleaning is a very easy choir as the filter is made up of very fine nylon and can be reused over and over plus having the air injection set up it does not get contaminated as easy as stihl. Over great features include captive bar nuts so u can not loose them, 3 different sized handles and the purge valve. Ok so now for the not so good and there is only 2 things I've found, the anti vibe is very good but what makes it good is that the springs are very soft which when pushed a bit to hard through timber they start to stretch which on one of the 540's u look after this caused the impulse hose to split and the saw would not run so I would check the anti vibe springs along with regular maintenance and if they are stretched replace them, and the spark plug cap I found was very hard to pull off on all of them, this can be fixed by putting a bit of grease around spark plug. But all in all you would definently not be disappointed with these saws! (Posted on 3/21/2014)

Got the saw a few weeks ago and have used it for pruning and removals. I am skeptical of newer saws but this on is the best designed climbing saw I have ever used. The rope ring and clip make it easy to store on your saddle. I highly recommend this saw. Its a worthy replacement of the MS 200T. Great power and runs well. (Posted on 1/17/2014)
