Awsome saw! I knew in the first ten minutes of use I made the right choice buying the 562 xp. I've run more than two gallons gas through this saw in less than a week noodling hardwood after cutting it to 16" in length. The saw runs perfect, even leaving it running at idle with the chain break on for ten minutes. This saw cuts oak and maple like butter. It exceeded my expectations and I've owned a 262 xp for 17 years. If I had to pick one I would pick the 562 and that is saying a lot because I had the 262 so long and never had any problems with it. I think people just don't know how to start a 562 when they are warmed up.You need to set the high idle by putting the choke on then drop the button back to the on position, this sets the high idle for warm starts. It will start 1st or 2nd pull every time! (Posted on 4/15/2016)

All of these 500 series are awesome saws... Many people have problems mainly because there is one simple step that needs to be follow. When the saw is hot, you need to flip the choke on and then back off and it will start every single time. If you don't do that then you will crank and crank.. But I own four 550's, two t540's and one 562xp and never had a single problem with any of them. They are great saws if you know how to run them. Also since they are autotune carbs, you need to run them for 20 to 30 seconds wide open to adjust the carb the the environment before using them. (Posted on 10/22/2015)

I left Stihl for this... not happy. Does not start right away after use. I've nearly wore myself out on multiple occasions trying to crank it. It's back in the shop for the fourth time in less than 2 years. I bought it new. Same goes for the 540xp. I bought two. First purchase was a year ago. It's back in shop for 2nd time. Forced to buy another so I could finish the job. Same goes for the both of them. When hot, no start. Also when they hang from my bucket or saddle, gas escapes and floods carb. Auto tune is bogus. Totally going back to Stihl. (Posted on 9/3/2015)
