Details

Gecko® CF (carbon fiber) Climbers are the world's first ultra-light climbing gaffs that take full advantage of space-age carbon-fiber technology. These light yet strong gaffs are ideal for those who are looking for the ultimate in comfort and productivity. Gecko® designers virtually walked away from the antiquated belief that heavy and bulky is best and created climbing gaffs weighing in at less than half of what wearers are accustomed to. And low weight is not all that's amazing, because by departing the "one-size-fits-all philosophy," Gecko® was able to incorporate the slimmest, calf-conforming upper-pad design ever. The entire stirrup, shank, and upper cuff are of one solid, carbon-fiber unit, topped with a wide, comfortable, and strong Velcro strap holding a breathable and machine-washable calf pad. By melding this sleek design with carbon fiber, Gecko® allows you to climb longer and with less stress than you ever believed possible; the Gecko® climber's deliver excellent value.

Example: A cyclist can confirm that the price for a single carbon-fiber bicycle rim exceeds $500-and often approaches $1,000! To order the correct size, simply measure from your foot arch to the base of your knee and get ready to receive one of your best work investments since breathable underwear! (Meets American Society for Testing and Materials [ASTM] standards)

**Please Note: Weight limit on all Gecko® gaffs is 240 pounds WITH GEAR!!**

over-all great Review by mike teller

I love the feel of these gaffs, they feel like you are not wearing anything on your feet. The pads and redesigned shanks spreads the pressure out on your leg for a very comfortable wear. I would recommend them to any climber that spends all day in the trees. (Posted on 5/24/2016)
Best spikes available Review by John Romano

These spikes with pads both weigh less than one steel spike with its pad. They are incredible! I spend 8-12 hrs in trees 3-5 days per week doing large removals and no spikes can compare. My only complaint is the bottom part under your foot is thicker than other spikes so it sticks down below ones boot more than expected and when you step onto a limb with that section of the glossy carbon fiber unspiked its very slippery and dangerous. Gecko needs to create a waffle texture there or fasten another material or put some type of surface that grips so you dont feel like your stepping on ice. (Posted on 9/12/2014)

I have been climbing for over 18 yrs and have never abused my gear that I need to work with and that I rely on to keep me safe. The spike broke while climbing a maple tree. I bought a replacement set and about 2 months later broke again in another maple tree. I sent both of the broken pieces back to Sherrill with the wood containing the broken tips. That was in February and now in May 4 months later after many calls to Sherrill and many different stories from them I finally got a credit. The climbers are great light weight and comfortable. I just think Sherrill needs to improve their return policy. (Posted on 5/13/2012)

This is a great product. The carbon fiber is of a high quality and is very rigid. The spikes are very sharp and come with their own covers when not in use. The velcro leg straps hold very well. The leg pads are thick and comfortable. They are slightly breathable but you'll still sweat a lot around the pads. I would recommend these spikes to anyone who spends a lot of time in the trees. Be careful not to over-tighten the velcro. You have to find the right tightness but when you do find it, they are very comfortable. As you climb the spikes will hit each other and they do scratch but it just gives them character. The only thing I would recommend to the manufacturer is that for $523 plus shipping couldn't you include some sort of a hard case for these, even some sort of heavy duty bag?
