Absolutely amazing product. Long lasting comfort and a now much sturdier frame. Review by Ron

Newly updated spikes are amazing. So thankful that Edelrid took the time to re-work this beautiful product to make it so much better. I have had the re-worked talons for a little over a month and use them at least 3-5 times per week and I have not had any issues at all. They made a great product with some flaws totally perfect. I love my talons. I choose the talons over my geckos every single time. I think they are worth every penny. (Posted on 6/21/2018)

Maybe we just got a bad pair, but the velcro is mine came loose, and after a few hours in the tree they became uncomfortable. Seemed like a cool concept and I hope they work the kinks out in the second edition. For now if you're debating which spike to get I would go with the carbon fiber geckos, I just think they are more comfortable and lighter. (Posted on 1/13/2018)

Very good spikes up to the point where the Velcro comes off the plastic. Havent heard back from Sherrill tree for a week and nothing. Strap by spike didnt hold up to climbing 6 firs. I dropped a top and when I was ready to chunk pieces i saw my left spikes the spike was moving freely. No good

SHERRILL Inc. Response: Thank you for your honest review. We are sorry to hear about the velcro coming off these climbers. Please contact us at 800-345-2468 so that we can do our best to make this right! (Posted on 10/28/2017)
Break out the super glue Review by Kris

I am unimpressed with Edelrid. I ordered two sets because one of my employees was sure we had to have them. One of the sets arrived without bottom straps. The distributor claims there is no way it could have happened anywhere but the factory. I sent them back and am still waiting on a replacement pair 3 weeks later. Only took 2 days to send them out the first time. There is a short-sighted design issue of mind-blowing proportions. Within 3 uses of the climbers the velcro pealed off the plastic and was allowing the shin pads to move around. The design and adhesive resemble something found on a carnival toy prize made to last 3 uses. I tried to replace the velcro and ended up resorting to super glue after the second round of replacement Velcro. How does something like that make it past Quality Control?!
My time is valuable and the time I have spent resolving both these issues outweigh the comfort (think memory foam) the climbers provide. You also really have to move around in them before you can get the velcro adjusted correctly. So, you'll be headed up the tree and have to stop and tighten down more guaranteed every time. There's no way to get them tight enough on the ground. Get through all that and you'll be happy with the comfort and functionality. (Posted on 10/22/2017)

It's comfortable Review by Jonathan Hill

OK unfortunately I have to write a somewhat bad review. The reason being is that these spikes are advertised at 2.8 pounds. I have been using the gecko carbon fiber spikes since they came out approximately eight years ago. The gecko carbon fiber spikes are advertised at 3.75 pounds so i thought i would give the Talon spike a try since it was approximately a whole pound lighter. But immediately when I took the spikes out of the package I knew that they were way heavier than the gecko carbon fiber spikes. These spikes are way more cumbersome than the gecko carbon fiber's as well. I had no idea that a $40 difference would put me in the boat that I'm in now. Wish I would've just bought the gecko carbon fiber's again. Someone needs to figure out whether we are weighing one spike or both spikes. On the upside it is the most comfortable spike I've ever put on. (Posted on 9/28/2017)
