Petzl has raised the bar once again with this impressive redesign of their popular Ecrin series. The Vertex's highly adjustable suspension system allows high or low positioning on the head while the unique chinstrap design can be moved forward or back and wider around the ears. The Vertex features a polycarbonate shell designed to withstand significant impact from above or side (meeting EN397 andEN12492 standards) at temperatures down to -30C (-22F). A slot design with clearance over the ears accepts most muff-type ear protection equipment. The comfortable suspension system is adjustable by single thumb wheel and has an integrated chinstrap designed to decrease the risk of helmet loss in case of impact during a fall (breaking strength of more than 50ÊdaN, EN12492 mountaineering helmet standard). The suspension has also been modified to allow the back section of the suspension to pivot which helps minimize distortion. Five ventilation holes on each side can be instantly closed with integrated sliding shutters. The Vertex Vent does not meet requirements of the EN397 standard regarding electrical insulation. However, it does meet ANSIZ89.1 - 2003-type-I-class-C and CE EN12492. Vertex Vent Helmet

hard working helmet

the helmet has proven to take a good solid wack and leave the wearer intact. the vents are great for the hot summer days, nice to close when the weather turns colder, only issue at all is one of the sliding retainers has broken, not too big of a deal.i would reinvest in one again.

Great product. Recommend to all

I have been using these helmets now for ten years and they are very comfortable and light weight. we are not easy on things and they seem to have held up well.

Great helmet. After adjusting the straps to my liking, it's a very comfortable helmet; almost forget its on. Well worth every penny!

Good helmet

This is the 3rd helmet of this model that I've had. It's always comyfy and does its job, ill probably continue getting this same helmet until they don't make it

Golden co

best suspension hat

This is the best, most comfortable hard hat I've had. I've owned a regular hard hat, which I used for years, the Rockman and the kask. The Petzl is the only hat that I found to be comfortable enough to wear all day. The Rockman sits so high on your head that it falls off easily and the kask is a foam fitted hat so it gets so hot in the summer all you want to do is take it off. The Petzl is a suspension hat so air can circulate around your head and the vents let excess heat escape and the dual adjustments allow easy adjustment on the go. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
