In the kingdom of ascenders, this is the top of the food chain. Klein D. Ladder (or whoever invented the thing) would never have imagined the potential of his idea, but would be impressed with modern man's adaptation. The Mar-Bar system consists of two pairs of CMI ascenders joined temporarily back-to-back (cams facing out) to create the perfect rope ladder. Climbers can now save energy for the work at hand by making their ascent as easy as possible. With your 1/2" rope in position, simply attach Mar-Bars to both or one line, clip saddle to the strap using a carabiner (not included) and sit. Next, put your feet into the lower Mar-Bar, grab the comfortable, upper handle and inch worm to your destination. You can rest by sitting in your harness, while tethered to the upper unit. Once in position, the system can easily be lowered to the ground in exchange for tools. When the time comes to leave, the climber can descend on a figure of 8 or use a traditional friction hitch. Experienced footlock climbers can save a lot of energy while obtaining serious gripping power by using just the upperset. Instead of grabbing thin, sometimes slippery rope (vertically), they'll now have horizontal handles without the need to push up on a securing friction hitch like the prusik. Users can ascend one or two lines with equal effectiveness. Mar-Bar kit can be easily applied to existing CMI ascenders. Minor assembly required, detailed instructions included. 5,000 lb. tensile per ascender. We would like to thank Paul Sisson for making this great product. Upper Kit Only ( Ascenders not included!) For use with existing CMI ascenders.
