Berkley Line Tamer

You have to pay out your entire amount of throwline before you use the "LIne Tamer" , if your jobs requires 75' of throwline and you have 200' in your bag, you have to pay-out 125' when your done to get to the end of your line before you can use this thing! O.K. if you are loading your full length of line. Other than that, Berkley (thats who makes this) should stick with fishing.

Whoever thought to put this in the lineup as an option hadn't ever tried it out. It has no torque at all. It took five minutes to get the "thread through eye of the the needle" and then I thought it was broke because it didn't do anything when I pushed the power button. I had to hold it at exactly 45 degrees to make my speed line move through the device at snails pace. Berkley designed this for taking the fishing line off of a fishing reel, not moving speed line.

Note from SherrillTree – if this happens with your new Line Tamer while using line smaller than 2.2mm line please call for adjustment procedure or replacement. The cap (pops off to expose orange rollers) of Berkley’s line stripper has been specially modified inside (shaved) and may have “burr.” A few have slipped through our system. We will fix or replace at our expense... or, you can simply remove cap and look inside (side closest to holes) and where you see a triangle shape, shave upper most point of triangle with sharp knife being careful to leave cap retaining bottom edge, then replace cap. If ruined we will still replace.

Would be great for fishing, not good for throw line. I should have read the reviews before buying. I have 200' of line, if I use 50' of it I have to pull the extra 150' out to thred the end of the string through the hole. It does not feed quick like the product info said. Very unhappy with this product.

Great idea, but didn't feed the line at all. I would pay a lot more for something made of metal with more power. Plus side, easily returned for a full refund.

We use it for pulling 50 meters of throwline everytime and it is perfect for us, but after 5000 meters it stopped working. We expected a better lifetime on the product. Is there other similar product on the market with better durability we are interested to buy a few.
