Double Braid This molten-hot additionto the SherrillTree lineup is built by New England Rope and uses the new FlexiFirm Core Technology (trade name Tachyon) to deliver climbers a unique, low-stretch, tough-skinned, double-braid that stays round and firm under load.

Unlike any double braid before it, LAVA® contains a unique third "magmastrand" that provides spectacular support and density to both core and mantle. LAVA® provides excellent traction to both split-tails and ascenders, resulting in flawless performance of doubled rope (traditional) and single rope climbing techniques. LAVA® flows smoothly through a wide array of modern mechanical devices thanks to its small size andsleek jacket. LAVA® tips my personal micrometer at 11.5 mm, and natives are sure to praise the gods for another Poison Ivy-like line, but one that can be eye-spliced at both ends!

Within each linear foot of LAVA®'s deep blue-colored mantle burst glowing bright flecks of either hot orange or bright lime, delivering a distinctive and unique look that can be spotted or called for from great distances.

Love my Lava!!!

I really like this rope, it is easy to see in thick canopy trees with-out blinding me. It is small and light but fills the hand because it stays round and firm. Hasn't milked a millimeter in over a year of use. Maybe not as abrasion resistant as other ropes I've used.

Lava 200' w/ 2 tight eyes

I love this rope. It holds my friction hitch great. I love the two spliced eyes. Just the right amount of stretch.

Great climb line

I love my lava line, I have both ends spliced. This rope is easy to work with, holds my VT and distel really well. The only thing I dont care for with this rope is that it feels like it has more stretch than blaze, which really only bothers me when I'm lazy and using a pantin to ascend.

Hard on the Hands

Wear your gloves with this one! I'm sure this line is great for competition climbing but it wears your hands out! I still love my Safety Blue. I love the way it gets fluffy with age.

BEAUTIFUL ROPE

When you first see this rope you appreciate how far rope has progressed. As an "old school" climber who used to climb on 3-strand this was a change iin style for me. Changed from taut line hitch to self tending with ocean 8mm prusik which work well on this rope. Seems to tangle a little more than 3-strand, but this may be because I wasn't using a rope bag (just ordered one). This rope will pluck if it gets hungup on a twig stub. It feels great in the air. Has a tight eye splice. ( Only was to go no matter what rope you choose. Learn the VT prusik you'll be glad you did!!!
