Take a list of every tree climber’s favorite harness features, toss in an engineer’s eye for enhanced adjustability, blend in an ergonomic tune-up by a physical therapist, and then send it down the line at America’s leading industrial harness manufacturer—and what do you get? One high-powered innovation that’s sure to win the working-climber’s heart.

This latest edition harness from Buckingham is the brainchild of tree climbing instructor and certified arborist Ed Carpenter and his physical-therapist sibling Dr. Amanda Carpenter. Together, the Carpenters spent countless hours crafting their dream harness into a study of fine-tuned ergonomics. The Ergovation is not only modular (22 replaceable parts), but highly adjustable. From hip-positioning rings that adjust fore and aft, to leg straps that allow buckle placement inside or outside the thighs, the Ergo was designed to fit a range of climbing styles and motions.

Only the second tree climbing harness to address adjustable lumbar support (besides Treemotion), the Ergovation includes a hidden pocket in the belt back for installing a half-inch closed-cell foam pad (included with each harness); that’s customizable lumbar support to help maintain optimal posture. You can even insert your own doctor-prescribed hot or cold therapeutic pad. If you’re in the market for a premium upgrade to your current harness, strap on this comfortable ergonomic wonder, sit back, and enjoy the ride.

3:1 waist adjustment and removable abdominal stabilization system for precise fit and to prevent shifting.

Better than tree motion ?

During a seminar in Findlay Ohio, I had the opportunity to try on the tree motion and the ergo saddle. By far I liked the comfort and the versatility of the ergo saddle. Coming from the old school, wide back saddle and being a little robust, the ergo was very comfortable allowing me to feel at home wearing it. Good job to the designers ( Ed

nice invention

I have owned the tree motion for about two years now.Its light comfortable and by far the most comfortable harness that i have used.Last week i purched the Egovation.Basically this harness is spot on in areas of strenght comfort and weight. There has been alot of thought that has been put into this harness. With any other harness i can say that in awkward positions i get sore in the hips when extended in a horizontal positon. The Ergovation has extra thick padding and i have no longer sore hips.with the main belt bucke there is a velcro waist strap that you put on and then the buckle which really aligns your back in the right postition throughout the climb which is awsome. At the back there is extra padding and you can even put an ice back behind the padding which i personally wouldn't do.So if your looking for a great harness to climb in thats strong and comfortable that really protects your back this is for you...

Not for everyone

Much heavier than I expected. I got the full meal deal with the Y harness and the batten seat. It must be at least three pounds heavier than any other full body rig I've tried. It is very well thought out and very comfortable but, given the extra weight, I don't expect to see it at many climbing competitions.....

love it

This is the greatest saddle ever. Built by a trusted name. It is a little heavy, but not enough to outweigh the comfort. I would definatly buy this saddle again.

Eh

This saddle is comfy when you are in a traditional tree climbing position like standing upright with both feet against the tree. I have found that in those awkward stances with maybe a twisted body while out a limb, or one foot higher than another, the saddle is very uncomfy and hard on the hips because of the leg strap positioning. And the saddle is quite heavy.

overpriced nonsence

upgraded because my buckingham traverse was all worn out, really liked the traverse so wanted to stay with buckingham, ordered to seat and the y harness, the harness has very bad sizing if you are like me and happen to be around 31.5" waist, I use rain gear in the winter so I need something big enough to accomidate that, but their small stops at 32 and their medium starts at 32, which as far as I can tell is about the most common waist size, so that should be in the middle of a certain size so you can adjust up or down if you had not much for dinner or you need to put on bulky rain gear... Too much velcro, very annoying to put on, torso stabalizers were the first things to go because they dug into my body in a bad way, you need to buy clips if you want to put your handsaw on, way too much money, about the most anoying thing is you cant just use the busom seat, you have to attach it with the leg straps still on, making it overly bulky and the most annoying thing you want to put on if you are like me and have a few things hanging from your saddle a lot of times... I am about to order a new traverse and just bite the cost of this overpriced and very frustrating saddle...

one of a kind

This my 2nd season climbing on the ergo bye far the best saddle out there this saddle is made too last 2nd season climbing in the saddle out of my 6 years of climbing an it blows all other saddles away so for a lil more weight than the rest u might notice it a bit but when ur using a big saw like a ms660 or a ms 880 blocking down BIG WOOD the saddle is still comfee u dont feal the pressure on ur hips no wears near as much as a lighter saddle i will buy another ergo again hands down see u climbers at the top
