Arborist Industry Credentials:
Thomas owns and runs a tree care company based in Melbourne and has done so for the past 23 years. He first started climbing trees on his parent's farm in Australia. After a stint working as a forester in British Columbia, Canada, he started working as an arborist in Vancouver in the early ‘80s. Thomas has been competing in the state and national tree climbing competitions since their inception in Australia in 1997 and has had the privilege of representing Australia at the International Tree Climbing Championship (ITCC) on four occasions.

Thomas has been involved in locating and climbing tall trees for the past seven years. Most of his efforts have been in southern Australia where Eucalyptus regnans (the world's tallest hardwood) is located but he has also climbed some of the tallest and largest Coast and Giant Redwoods in California and tropical trees in Borneo.

SherrillTree Connection:
I first heard about SherrillTree when I went to my first ITCC in Milwaukee in 2001. The company has a tremendous range of all sorts of arboricultural equipment and has an excellent catalogue.

Tree Care Connection:
Having grown up in a rural environment where my father had a great interest in trees I developed a strong affinity for trees at an early age. On our increasingly stressed planet trees need to be valued much more than they have been in the past for their environmental and aesthetic values.
