Rec - 2002 Savanah Seminar
This seminar was the first of its kind in the U.S. to highlight the latest foreign research in the field of tree risk assessment regarding mechanical failure. Organized by ISA’s Southern Chapter, speakers included German tree mechanics expert Erk Brudi, Australia’s Dr. Ken James, Bartlett Lab scientist Tom Smiley among the top speakers. My wife Anne and I attended, bringing along our then 3-year old son Cameron (the last photo is that of Cameron holding a real dog in downtown Savannah).

Rec - 2006 Sequoia Climb
Most big-tree enthusiasts are keenly aware of the measurement research conducted by California biologist Dr. Steve Sillett. Acting as literally the point man for all big tree discoveries for the US Pacific coast, Sillett documents findings from a small league of tree measuring scouts, including two of the best, Chris Atkins and Michael Taylor.
Rec - 2007 Blozan/Sillett North Carolina Climb
The Appalachian mountains in North Carolina are known for their diversity of plants, birds and geology. In May 2007 Tobe Sherrill, Will Blozan and a others ventured on a climb to see how the Eastern Hemlock was faring in the midst of the Wooly Adelgid infestation.
Rec - Douglas Fir Climb
This climb was organized by Seattle arborist Zeb Haney in cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service. After much effort on Zeb's part, permits were issued for two days of climbing in the Lake Quinault region of the Olympic peninsula of Washington. Climb leaders included Arboriculture Canada training instructor Norm St. Jean and Zeb Haney and, besides another great camping night, we had one of the best climbing days in modern history. Here, I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves…
Rec - Employee Training
Tree care industry professionals often wonder if employees and associates of SherrillTree have any idea as to what their tree care needs truly are and I can respond “you bet your saddle.” SherrillTree conducted our first employee climb back in the mid 90’s and haven’t stopped yet. And not because the owner says so but because the staff truly loves it.

Rec - SherrillTree People
During 20+ years in the tree care industry I've been fortunate to have made friends of people who care for and about trees. The following is a mix of personal photos I thought might interest curiosity about SherrillTree.
