Wow!

Wow! I just finished loading it (the large rope bag) with Delux Fold n hold, Ergovation with full body, 150 of Poison Hi Vee, Zubat and leg scabbard, Small mesh ditty bag with assorted pulleys, slings, Every loop has a biner in it, My helmet, glasses, lanyard, Buck Blocks, Loop runners, and finally a figure 8. My legs almost buckled under the load, and I still had some room to spare.

not good for hiking with your gear

I use this bag and my climbing gear every day. The bag is tough and I can easily fit my climbing line, saddle, helmet and more inside (XL). I would just caution against it for people that have to hike to their trees as I do. I work in the mountains in slippery conditions and the fact that the backpack system that is available for this bag only connects to the bag with 4 clips means that your load is somewhat unstable on your back and if you loose your footing the weight of the moving load can easily take you down. If you really plan to hike with your tree climbing equipment I would choose a different bag...otherwise its great.

Slight flaw?

The storage and all of the gear loops work amazing. The only downside i've had is the sometimes awkard load when hiking into an area. On e day the bag and i went for a ride (not in a fun sense) and the bag got a tear under the main zipper. this is the only part that i think needs reinforced with the whole set up. Worst part i hadn't even owned the bag three weeks when it happened.

Not the most durable

Yes this bag will hold everything you put in it. I have Gecko spikes, Petzl Vertex Vent helmet, Petzl Sequoia Harness, two steel core fliplines, 150' Poison Ivy climbing line, Big Shot Head attachment, 2 Friction Savers, Silky hand saw, and an assortment of runners, beaners, micropulleys, split tails and accessory cord. Every thing I need to climb. This bag will hold a lot and support 70 lbs when loaded right but will not hold together at the seams very well. Before I acquired or had loaded most gear the bag's corner attachments stitching for the backpack accessory loops fell apart and had to bring it to a local canvas shop to restitch. The plastic runners that make the bag rigid poke through the yellow canvas on top after normal tree guy use and the system to hold the clips of the backpack harness onto the bag falls off constantly, which makes for an uneven carry with only two or three points of attachment instead of 4. So it holds what I need and is annoying half the time so I give it 3 stars because if they gave it some minor adjustments it would easily be a 5 star product.

Amazing Bag!

This bag is an awesome container for all of my climbing equipment. I have a 150' work rope,150' climbing rope, 200' climbing rope, "floating D" small saddle, 14 Oz throw-ball and 200' line, Zubat 330 handsaw, 10' safety lanyard and room to spare!!!! The pockets on the outside are empty but fit a fuel mix for the chainsaw, chainsaw tool pouch and more. This bag has done more than I thought it could. Everything is contained and easy to keep track of. The rope whole on the top of the bag is useful for keeping the line clean and out of the way of falling branches. It is a little bit of a hassle to curl the rope back in the bag when your done but worth it. I would recommend it if you like to stay organized. I love it!!

Good

This bag has a lot of storage no doubt about that and it looks bitchin. For that I give it full stars. But listen up if your thinking of getting that back pack add on so you can go on long hikes with it. DONT the backpack add on is horrible for long hikes it does not hold the bag up high enough. You end up fighting it's backward pull. Buckingham makes one that is far superior for long hikes.

Great bag

I agree with the previous posters, its not great for hiking, and if you overload it, it will start to wear out. Really though, for the money, this bag is the best I've seen. I take all my own climbing and rigging gear to my job daily, so being able to load/unload 2 or 3 bags is quick and easy for me. Plus its easy to organize my gear in them - I have one bag for drt, with two climb lines, my sequioa, biners, redirects, helmet, saw, etc, and one bag for srt or static rope climbing, and one bag with my rigging plates, whoopies and loopies, porta wrap, blocks and pulleys etc. My big rigging lines I store by themselves in cheaper bags, but my employer provides the rigging ropes, so these bags work awesome for me. I highly recommend.

New Bag Design Still Has Issues

I like the bag. I have had one since they first came out. The first line had issues the the plastic vertical support tearing through the top of the bag. They fixed this with grommets to hold the spines in place. That was great but now they have replaced the plastic with a less rigid version. Now when my bag is half empty it bends over. That never happened with the old bag and I had more stuff hanging on the outside. It is still a good product but it needs a tweak again. If I had known the issues with the new bags I would have kept the old beat up one and not spent the money on the new.

Awsome

FREAKIN Awesome. I love this bag, it lets me do what I love to do, take everything I'd ever possibly need. The only issue (which is worth a whole star) is that it doesn't stand on its own very well (empty). Granted something this tall isn't going to stand very easily, and I give credit for it being as good as it is, but once it starts bending at a point, it doesn't stop. Now when it's empty I'm lucky if I can get it to stand up long enough to flake my whole line in without strapping it to something for support. I love this bag, I just wish it would stand at attention better than it does. To be honest I'm tempted to construct some kind of support so that it will stay up, but I don't want to add a whole bunch of weight, as it's already pretty heavy, and I don't want to put too much strain on the backpack part.
