Protooth Saw

Unlike a chainsaw blade that carries debris out in one direction, handsaws clog if chips aren't removed effectively, and this is why the Fanno ProTooth was developed. ProTooth describes Fanno's recent improvements to their popular conventional tree saw. Research revealed that the Tri-edge design is not as effective in long cuts because the teeth have have no set, making them poorly effective at removing shavings from a long cut. Conventional toothed hand saws are stamp cut and recognized by their bent tooth pattern where as Tri-edge teeth are ground out of a blank blade and require no set. The difference in their performance is that the wide cutting pattern of the conventional-style blade permits it to better clear its kerf in long cuts (10+ inches) that can clog-up a Tri-edge blade. FannoPro Tooth blades hold an edge longer and are resharpenable using a simple cant file.
