(Go Back)Bracing

Bracing is an important enough topic to address in some detail and it's a good case for choosing dynamic cabling over static.

It's very unlikely to do bracing without cabling. With a static method, the procedure usually involves bolts and lags to attach the steel cable. Most dynamic systems go around the trunk themselves.

While some have concerns about dynamic ropes wrapping around the tree, the static approach requires drilling the tree.

Since the tree continues to grow, you will want to cable 2/3 above defect. You have to come back and inspect the cables and most often move them up another 2/3 distance from the defect.

Of course, dynamic is easier to move up and you don't leave any hardware in the tree below.
