Arborist Industry Credentials:
Ken began his professional career working as an arborist in 1975. In 1989 Ken became the New England ISA Tree Climbing Champion and for the next 7 years, he represented New England winning 3 world class titles of International Tree Climbing Champion (1991, 1993 & 1995). After retiring from competition to focus on arborist training in 1996, he and partner Rip Tompkins incorporated their own company, ArborMaster®.- creating a market that didn’t exist for the arborist industry - Structured training programs that would systematically usher in the next generation of tree workers, targeting workforce safety, skill and productivity.
It was also in the late 80’s that Ken turned his focus to the development of arborist equipment. With his background of rigging racing and transporting sailboats and the high level of technology used in the marine industry, Ken began looking for ways to provide more innovative equipment and techniques that would assist tree workers in making their work safer, easier and more efficient.

Tobe Sherrill realized a vision to build a company that would offer the best arborist supplies in the country. In 1997, ArborMaster and SherrillTree formed a strategic partnership.
