German engineers designed Gecko® gaffs to fulfill the comfort needs of modern tree and utility climbing personnel without all the weight and mass associated with traditional-style spurs. Weighing in as the lightest aluminum climbing gaffs available today. Gecko® climber's provide owners with the perfect balance of gaffing effectiveness and product longevity.

The primary feature that affects gaff comfort is the relationship between the human form and mechanical brace. Gecko® gaffs aluminum alloy leg shanks were scientifically designed to cup the foot arch, bypass irritating contact with the ankle, and gently brace against the upper shin. There is no super-wide, triple-thick,metal-enhanced, double-strapped mattress required to keep Gecko® gaffs secured to one’s leg and no steel adjustment sleeve to add weight. Gecko® climbers are sought for their unique simplicity and minimalist features, their adjustable fiberglass shin cuff with Velcro®-attached washable padding, their sleek form, and, most of all, ideal comfort. Comfortable, lightweight, cool, smart spur design … what are you waiting for?

• Uniquely effective and easily sharpened spur design
• The lightest aluminum climbers currently available
• Meets ASTM standards for strength
• Comfortable, integrated and washable padding system
• Wide and secure Velcro cinch straps
• Contoured design provides ankle relief
• Adjustable from 41 to 48 cm, in 2-cm increments

5 years and counting

Bought these Geckos 6 years ago. Comfort has been awesome except for seam in pant leg gets pressed into leg for long periods of climbing. I do many major large diameter removals each week and have to push off heavy blocks, the Geckos have taken the 350 plus pressure fine for 5 years and counting. Still on my origanal pads too

best spikes ever

I bought the original geckos 15 years ago and they have been the very best and comfortable spikes I have ever used would still have them but the boss dropped a tree on them got my new geckos a week ago and they are just as comfortable

not my favorite

They are not as comfortable as my bashlins. Actually, they caused quite a bit of pain in my legs. My crew likes them, but they're just not for me.

Great, But...

Great product, I've been in trees for hours with only one complaint. The rivets that hold the pads on have punctured through the pads and into my shins, which causes a lot of discomfort especially for trimming/removing trees that take a while to do.

Very Nice

No complaints matter of fact I would recommend Geckos to anyone in the tree climbing business I have spent a lot of time in them and they are comfortable.

Vary Good Product.

Two climbs so far at one week old, there were out standing in -7 to 10 degrees and frozen Oak trees. Had sum saw dust on Velcro, easy to clean out.

fantastic product

Truly the best spikes I have tried and now own. So light I can't even tell they are strapped to my legs. The only downfall which is really not a downfall just a learning aspect is the spikes are a little more slender and dig into the tree more than the Buckinghams I used before.

Great Spikes

Most comfortable spikes I've worn to date!

I like them very light but I have wide feet so the foot pad on the spurs puts a lot of pressure on the out sides of my feet on long days. I had to cut my boots to fit the spur and made bigger foot pads. it helps a lot.

The best

The cost a little more but 4 years later still the most comfortable climbers I own. Only regret is I don't get to use them more.

the best spurs

Absolutely worth the $$

I've been using Buckinghams for years, but these have always been on my wish list. After my first full day of use I didn't feel like I had been using spurs at all. Super comfy, very secure fit. I hear people complain about the fit on boots without the instep gap. I wear boots for primarily rope climbing without heals, and I had no issue at all. If your considering a pair, its worth it. Don't wait.
