(Go Back)Aluminum, Unmarked O-rings on Weaver’s Cougar Saddles Manufactured in 2007-08
Dear SherrillTree Customer:
SherrillTree has been notified by Weaver Leather that any unmarked aluminum O-rings on Weaver’s Cougar Saddles manufactured and purchased during 2007 and 2008 are not suitable for use. A reported fracture of an unmarked ring was being used on a Cougar Saddle. All unmarked rings should be removed from service immediately.
If you have purchased a Cougar saddle that meets these criteria (Item numbers are COU- S, M, L, XL.), please contact Weaver Leather directly either through email fax or by mail at the addresses provided below. They will work directly with you to resolve the recall of the unmarked rings on your saddle(s).
This is the first known failure of any aluminum O-ring on the Cougar Saddle. There was no injury to the user. Weaver Leather has performed further tests on marked rings. Testing has confirmed that marked rings meet or exceed the industry standards for safety.
Weaver Leather has created a YouTube video to assist users in removing and replacing these rings:
It is important for each user to closely examine both aluminum rings being used on their Cougar Saddle. If with or both rings are unmarked, you should contact Weaver Leather directly at:
